Attraction Highlights
-Taiwan's first Hakka fishing harbor —experience Taiwanese beach seine, blow conch shells, and fish at the stone fish farm.
-Super seafood! Enjoy the fresh seafood at the tourism fish market to your heart’s content.
-Watch the sunset in Yongan on the cross-sea bridge as the projection mapping show lights the night.
-Stars gather to celebrate the festival as charming live bands hype the crowd up.

Formerly known as Kantouwu Port, Yongan Fishing Harbor is located at the estuary of Shezu Creek. A great recreational place for families to cycle together and feast on seafood, it is not far from the Green Tunnel and is easily accessible by bicycle.

Within Yongan Fishing Harbor, there is a tourist fish market. The building is in the shape of a lobster with two transparent spiral staircases. In addition, Yongan Seaview Bridge is a huge bridge across the Yongan Fishing Harbor. Every evening at 5 p.m. the lights will brighten the whole bridge, whose reflection on the sea is a romantic and beautiful view dazzling the eyes of photographers.

Dark sand beach, a fisherman village nearby with recently developed into a seafood restaurants district, that's about it really....

Warning for those with no car and no Mandarin

    Traveler rating:2 2017-07

Warning: For those without a car, and also possibly for those without ability to read/speak Chinese, this review is for you. I do not wish to be unfair -- and this is NOT really a review of the Fish Market (which was small but fine -- we only spent a short time there), so I will tell our travel story (from Taipei Main Station) and let the reader draw conclusions before you plan a trip here. We have one Taiwanese speaker/reader of Mandarin in our group (highly recommended -- with English only, we would not have found the place at all), and had to take public transportation. READ the Google time estimates before you try this. It took us roughly 2 1/2 hours to get to the port from Taipei Main / Railway (first by local train to Zhongli and then by bus -- and hour each with added connection waits). At the bus station between Taipei and the fisherman's port (at Zhongli), we were VERY confused and forced to ask directions from local people (in Mandarin). Once at the port, we found the bridge was under construction (nowhere stated in any review or announcement that we had seen) -- it has scaffolding all around it and NO LIGHTS. The bridge is also very small -- not much to see. The port is also small, as is the nearby beach (10 minutes to walk the full length of that beach -- no need for a bike there). The Green Tunnel starting area is another 1 km walk from the port/bus stop (estimated 20 minutes walk one way) -- with no signs that we could find in any language (we had to ask local people again -- in Mandarin). We had started too late from Taipei to do the Green Tunnel, and feared there would be no bus to return if we stayed too late. The only schedule available at the bus station in Zhongli concerning returns from the port was for one "tour-bus" (505), which had a last run at 6:30 pm from the port area back to Zhongli. That is before the sunset. It was 20 minutes late, and after another almost three hours (by bus to Zhongli and then by another bus back to Jiantan MRT Station in Taipei), we arrived at 9 pm (left Taipei at 3 pm that day), and never got to the Green Tunnel biking route at all. Moral: If you do NOT have a car, schedule a FULL day to get here from the city, and don't expect to see much before the Green Tunnel (which I will not review, as we never saw it). I am sure the seafood is good in the Fish Market, but we did not try it -- no time. The 7-11 store at the bus stop is small but has seating and good coffee. Next time we will likely try Tamsui instead for the easier/faster transportation.

Habor view is good. Sunny days need your glasses. Not too many people, easy and clean. Food court is fair, prefer booth food than sit-in shop. Seashore park is windy but good to play bubble . That's fun.

    Fresh seafood

A commercialised fishing village. Not a lot to do / see, but there are a lot of seafood restaurants selling fresh / living seafood. Good price - NT$2700 for 12 people for lunch.

Great sea foods' place. A lot booth restaurants for choice. Cheap and fresh. Big parking area. Rest room not so big enough during the weekend. Drive out turn right, there have beach for ride.
