Featuring Baroque-style engravings and vintage arches, Daxi Bridge is an elegant structure that connects to the century-old Daxi old street. At dusk, the bridge is lit with sparks of light and a glamorous light show. It is especially favored by couples and photographers for the romantic view at night.
The reconstructed Daxi Bridge resembles its predecessor, Daxi Historic Suspension Bridge built in the Japanese colonial rule. The new bridge is known especially for the spectacular scenery of Daxi River. It also features the scenery of Shihmen Reservoir and Tamsui Guanyinshan, both of which remind visitors of a past era of prosperity. In contrast to the quiet ambience during the week, Daxi Bridge becomes lively with street artists entertaining visitors with gyro or music performances on weekends and holidays.
