Colorful and exciting morning and afternoon 1st day visit to TaoyuanOn our 1st day after arriving from Honolulu(after a Tokyo night layover), we took a taxi ride from the Novotel Taoyuan Airport Hotel to this multi-story shopping mall. Arriving an hour earlier than they open, we walked around the neighborhood and visited a Hi-Life convenience store and had a Chinese Baked Bao. Upon opening at 11am, we entered the Metro Walk Mall and spent 4 hours walking from the basement floor, taking the escalators and elevators up the various floors to see hundreds of shops selling LG appliances, Nike and Timberland clothing, Apple products, H&M merchandise, jewelry, shoes, clothing, Lego, toy shops, and a multitude of dining choices and different foods and pastries. On the top of the mall is the Skywalk and includes a cinema with many movies to view.

spring vacation 2019We went by taxi about 20 minutes from hotel, 200 NTD to get here. The mall was great and cool as well. lots of shops and food places as well. We spent about 4 hours here just going around then had late lunch and went back to hotel with our things we picked up.

Decent Shopping Mall in TaoyuanAt first glance, the mall was impressive and pretty clean. I was most impressed with the basement area where a large range of food choices awaits the hungry customer. A word of warning, it can get pretty packed during meal times, so if you want to eat at a preferred restaurant (either Mala Hotpot or a sushi place), it's best to get a reservation. The prices of clothing, besides Zara and H&M, are ridiculously high so my friends and I didn't actually purchase anything there. But overall it is a nice place to spend a hot, humid day and there are plenty of shops to keep your eyes busy if anything. However, it isn't one of the better malls/department stores I've been to in Taiwan.
