Plan a two-day mountain trip in Taoyuan! On Day 1, drive along the Northern Cross-Island Highway to Jiaobanshan Park, then visit Luofu Hot Spring and the Yixing Suspension Bridge. In the afternoon, explore Xiao Wulai Skywalk before ending the day at Lalashan National Forest Recreation Area. On Day 2, start with the Baling Historic Trail, then head to the plain for lunch at the Rest Area of Highway. Finish your trip by visiting Bade Pond Ecology Park and the Zhong-Zhen Village Cultural Park.

【Day1】
Jiaobanshan Park

Jiaobanshan Park is a scenic spot with both natural beauty and historical significance. The Park preserves the Jiaobanshan Residence, the mysterious tunnel, and the hugging banyan trees Chiang Kai-shek and his wife planted. The Siqin Pavilion offers a view of the magnificent Dahan River Valley. The nearby Jiaobanshan Commercial District can also be added to your itinerary.

Luofu Hot Spring
The Luofu Hot Spring has a cold-water pool, hot spring pool, children's pool, SPA pool, scenic pool, and a unique herbal bath. Five bathing pools with different functions enable tourists to enjoy a variety of soaking experiences.

Yixing Suspension Bridge
The Yixing Suspension Bridge is the only water pipe suspension bridge in Taoyuan City. It was initially for irrigation and is now a tourism trail bridge. The narrow bridge deck is about 15 stories above the bottom of the Dahan River Valley. Walking on it feels like a tightrope, which is exciting and stunning.


Xiao Wulai Skywalk
Tourists can stand on the skywalk, overlook the magnificent scenery of Xiao Wulai River Valley, and appreciate the majestic waterfall up close. A sky rope bridge and many forest trails are nearby, allowing tourists to explore the valley's beautiful scenery among the mountains.


Lalashan National Forest Recreation Area
The Lalashan National Forest Recreation Area has the most spectacular group of thousand-year-old giant cypress trees in Taiwan. Surrounded by beautiful clouds and mist all year round, it is home to rare birds such as the Taiwan blue magpie and the vivid niltava.

【Day2】
Baling Historic Trail

The Baling Historic Trail has primitive broad-leaved forests and rich flora and fauna. The Area has four ecological museums, which introduce natural knowledge such as insects, plants, and geology. At the trail's end, there is an observation deck where tourists can enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent Dahan River.

Rest Area of Highway (Northern Cross-Island Highway Visitor Center)
The "Rest Area of Highway," located on the first floor of the Northern Cross-Island Highway Visitor Center, adopts a high-ceiling glass house design and is filled with various green plants in the interior. The entire space is bright and open, creating a natural and comfortable atmosphere. The store offers a variety of Chinese and Western light meals, desserts, and drinks.

 

Bade Pond Ecology Park
The Park has a lakeside cafe, a wetland platform, an elevated landscape pavilion, and a wooden plank road connecting abundant and diverse recreational functions. The Park also retains old trees and diverse biological habitats, making it the best place for adults and children to watch birds and get close to nature.


Zhong-Zhen Village Cultural Park
Tourists here can better understand the history and cultural stories of the lone soldier in a foreign land and experience that special historical memory. Tourist can also visit unique markets, experience traditional Yunnan and Burma costumes, and taste authentic Yunnan cuisine.
